About Me

Hey There! I’m Emily Benito, a Wellness Momma living in San Diego With my husband Brett, and our two boys Benny and Bodhi. We started on our path of Natural Living when I was 7 months pregnant with Baby #2. What started out as a need to just be healthier and not miss so many days of work, turned into a Lifestyle Change no one saw coming- especially me!

The biggest gift of this wellness lifestyle is that its helped me become the best version of me- Which of course helps me be the best mommy for my boys, best wife to Brett, and a person that’s making a difference in this world. And it all started with a Box Of Oils!

You know that feeling when you smell something, and you’re instantly transported to a specific time in your life? Maybe smelling a dish your grandmother cooked or a cologne your dad wore? There is power between our emotions and our sense of smell; it's because our emotions and memories are stored in the limbic part of our brain. It can alter our feelings instantly. That’s why I love essential oils so much. My gateway into oils may have been for immune support for our family, but I fell in love with them for the emotional support they gave me. They bring me back to the best version of me emotionally- without clouding me or taking any pieces of me away. I used Present Time blend when we wnt to Cabo after my grandmother passed away. It helped me stay present and in the moment with my family. Now, whenever I smell Present Time- it reminds me of my grandmas, while also transporting me to Cabo family vacations. My favorite humans and my happy place. ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Have you ever felt like you were just losing your mind and desperate to feel like yourself again? I’ve felt like that on and off my whole life. But after having a few babies it got really challenging. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I was postpartum, Benny was two, and Bodhi was 4 weeks early. He was born underweight and a lazy eater so we had an alarm set to wake up every two hours to feed him and pump. Man, I do NOT miss those days. Lack of sleep, postpartum blues, hormones all over the place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was in a mommy group and I read about this oil called Surrender. I was first drawn to it when I heard a momma call it her “bitch be gone” oil. And I was like- order it STAT! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember applying a few drops of Surrender and immediately feeling all the stress and worries melt away. It allowed me to simply “surrender”, be in the moment and at peace. That’s the energy I want around my babies and Brett. The energy of a calm, happy momma and wife. And brownie points-it helped with toddler tantrums too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I still use Surrender, this momma still needs a little help here and there. And it smells pretty yummy too!

10 Year Challenge, Doggy Style. Just kidding! But I was looking through photos and found these- when Gracie and Mischief first met almost 10 years ago- They were both 5 years old. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Missy being Brett’s rescue pitt and Gracie being mine. it took a few days to figure things out, but then they became inseparable and besties for life. We were a bonafide family in every way- our weekends consisted of making sure we took them to dog beach, we took road trips with them, and they even slept in our bed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But when our 2 legged boys joined us three years later, these two slowly took a back seat and did it with grace. They took the role of “nanny dogs” and never got jealous of Benny and Bodhi.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t know why, but I”m just balling as I write this….because I may feel guilty of not giving them all the love and attention they deserved….And now they are 15 and old, and messy, load, and have peep and poop accidents inside all the time. They may not be cute, playful puppies anymore, but they are still our babies and we love them so much it hurts. That same love you have for your kids. That kind of love runs deep. I’m so grateful I get to have them by my side everyday while I work. Everyday is a gift. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What is something you are proud of? Someone asked me this recently. I used to go straight to career accomplishments, or that I made it out of the “hood” and living my dream in San Diego. But that’s not nearly as amazing as being the momma to these two guys. They are my biggest accomplishments. Not because I birthed them...I mean, that's pretty freaking amazing too!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’m talking about the pride I take in raising two little gentlemen that are polite, sweet, caring, and protect those around them. They have each other’s back all the time. Benny is only 5 years old, but he’s such a natural nurturer to his little brother. Likewise, Bodhi always wants to make sure Benny is getting equal attention when it comes to food, or toys, or whatever. They carry these traits with them outside the home too into the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Last year a friend said to me “I’m not raising boys, I’m raising men”. Whoa! That struck me! I adopted that philosophy into my own parenting. I’m so proud of these little gentlemen that have so much character instilled in their hearts and minds already. The world needs more of this. This is what I’m most proud of!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
